Limited and Very Conditional Love

Today while talking to a dear friend I realized that being real with each other is a choice we make. It is a tremendous gift being able as Christian leaders to recognized that we are flaw, that we need each other, that we need to be honest in order to be real. But I was also remainded that you cannot be real with everybody but to those who are also recognizing their own brokenness. It is ok for me and for you to struggle, it is ok to know that we need more of Him every day, every hour and every minute. Struggling is not a curse, it is a remainder of our humanity and our humanity is not punishment, it is a great gift. Henry Nouwen says in his book In The Name of Jesus, “The mystery of ministry is that we have been chosen to make our own limited and very conditional love the gateway for the unlimited and uncondtional love of God”
